The Carer's Allowance will carry on but it will be taken into account when calculated the amount UC payable. The calculation of the UC will however include extra money as a carer (unless he is getting the LCWRA element).
For a single person aged 25 or over he would get a standard allowance of £334.91 plus the carer element of £168.81 making a total of £503.72/month plus any applicable help with rent. The Carer's Allowance will be deducted as £302.03/month leaving £201.****/month plus any help with rent payable as UC but will be receiving the CA separately. As a carer he will not be required to look for work.1 -
