“Whose Voice Is It Anyway” is a darkly funny mockumentary, commissioned by Channel 4 Random Acts, through Little By Little Films, and was written and directed by Kate (who has lived experience of athetoid cerebral palsy).
It was filmed over the summer in North London and challenges perceptions of those with athetoid Cerebral Palsy and the parallel lives of two characters, one has the choice to communicate and the other does not.

Airing 17th of November at 00:05 am on Channel 4.

THIS FILM’S INTENTIONS
We want to show the power of having a voice when you have no speech: how having a communication aid can empower you, and how you are oppressed by not having access to a form of communication.
We want to:
Tell a funny, dark and playful story on-screen, inspired by real life, and reveal what it means to be denied autonomy and your own voice.
Promote the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and get people talking about the subject of non-speaking people.
Show the difference between the Social and Medical models of disability, which have profound day-to-day effects on our lives.
Make the point that not being able to speak doesn’t mean you have nothing to say
