Am I able to claim any benefits?

I have been told I may be able to apply for some benefits but I'm not sure if I actually qualify. I have two autistic children my son needs a lot of support currently. I was advised having the autism diagnosis meant I could claim something and possibly a blue badge is this correct. I work part time but earn more than the £128 a week stated in the info. Thank you.

A diagnosis doesn’t automatically entitle anyone to any benefits.
If your son is under 16 then you can look at claiming DLA for him. You will need to prove he has a lot more care and attention needs than another child the same age who doesn’t have a disability.

You won’t be able to claim carers allowance for looking after him unless he’s claiming either mid/high rate care DLA.
Whether you’re entitled to any other benefits as a family will depend on your circumstances. You can use a benefits calculator to check entitlement to Universal Credit. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator/Intro/Home?cid=1c9a5977-88fc-4016-86dc-84d28312318e

    Hi @JanineR79 :)

I was also going to suggest that you have a look at doing an online benefits calculator. This can be a useful way of seeing what you may be entitled to claim.

Have you been able to have a look at the one poppy123456 sent you a link to above?
