Apologies, I meant 'Correlate' ๐0

A quick update..
So, despite using the guaranteed next day delivery service (strikes on weds/thurs obviously) the letter is still sat in the West Midlands MC as I write & it was due in by today.
I've contacted my D's work coach via the journal, spoken with the Health Assessment Service over the phone regarding the form being late.
Both were very supportive and the guy on the HAS line made a note on the system and said "Well, you've done all you can"ย
BUT, I can't help feeling the system is set in stone and if you're form isn't in, that's it, they will close the case.ย
Does anyone else have any experience or understanding of the system and if it will allow for postal strikes?ย
I didn't sleep particularly well, and was thinking about this all through the night. ๐

They won't just automatically close the UC claim or the WCA referral. There are exceptions to the rules for returning the WCA forms. If there's a mental health marker on the file then the rules can be relaxed but that's down to DWP.If there's no mental health marker then forms do usually have to be returned no later than the date on the letter. If this happens then they (DWP) will give you a chance to explain the reasons why you didn't return it by the date. It's not your fault that Royal Mail were on strick yesterday. I'm hoping that they will receive it tomorrow and they do sometimes work on a weekend. (HAS)0

Hi @poppy123456
Thank you for your reply (as always, I appreciate your kind response)
That's really put my mind at rest, I know how strict the DWP can be at times, so it's good to know that they will give me a chance to explain.
I have proof of postage etc, and I can't imagine I'm the only one in this position.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow's post! โบ๏ธ
Thanks again..ย

As always, you're welcome. I completely understand just how stressful it is when filling out those forms for someone else, even if it's our children.

Good morning.. ๐
Well, the letter still has an 'out for delivery, today' status and has done since Friday at 10.45pm!
It's almost laughable really, paid for next day delivery and it's taken 7 days! ๐
(Have updated the work coach again, via E's journal) but after seeing the mountains of mail in sorting offices, I would suggest to everyone that if you have letters or parcels to post for Christmas, do it this week, don't listen to Royal Mail's advice! ๐ ๐

The RM strikes are really affecting the deliveries. I ordered something online and it took 10 days to be delivered with RM.Hopefully they will receive the form tomorrow.0

It sounds positive that you are not stressing over it quite so much now @Luna51. Really great to hear you didn't lose sleep over it either.ย
Oh no, though about your neighbours keeping you awake with karaoke! I am assuming that wasn't enjoyable enough to join in with, especially at 1 am?ย0 -

It wasn't too bad, they were obviously having a nice time but no, not joining in. I will save the singing for Christmas, when the adults are all a bit tipsy and then have no recollection of how awful I am at singing - my daughter's usually kindly remind me though.. ๐0 -

Nice and early this morning at 4.16am..
But it made it, 6 days late but there you go, thank goodness it hasn't gone missing - well, not yet anyway! ๐1 -
Glad to hear it got to you in the end @Luna511

Hi all..ย
Hope you're all well, given the persistent cold weather!
Another question regarding the UC claim, I hope you don't mind my asking.
We had a review with the GP yesterday regarding my daughter's conditions and the state of her current mental health.ย
The GP agreed that she would fully support her claim for the LCWRA if contacted by the DWP.ย
The GP will be writing up a sick note for another 3 months, but obviously cannot do it in advance and it runs out on Monday (19th) I've had two reminders to say it's about to run out, so should I write the intention to provide the new sick note in her journal or will it count as a gap if its not reported by Monday?
I don't want to get it wrong and assume we can't report it, if we don't yet have it?
Thank you so much ๐0 -
Don't expect them to contact anyone because it's rare they do this. When i was sending fit notes for my daughter i had a couple of reminders before her first one ran out but couldn't get another until that day. I put a message onto her journal telling them that i was in the process of getting her next fit note and i would report it as soon as i did.My daughters fit notes were for 6 months, maybe you can ask her GP for a longer fit note, this way you won't have to bother them for a while. My daughter only needed 2 before the decision was made. It was made soon after reporting the 2nd one.0

Hi again @poppy123456
Thank you so much for the clarification.ย
I too only had to report 1 fit note for my other daughter and so was unsure how you report another note before the old one runs out!ย
I'll pop a note in her journal after this, and I have a call with her Job coach on Tuesday so will mention it again.ย
Have a lovely weekend.. โบ๏ธ

You are welcome @Luna51. It is the very least you deserve.
It sounds positive that you are more sure about how to proceed with this now. Please feel free to let us know how it goes and if you need any further support in the meantime.
We are all here for you and listening to you. You don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to.
Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soonย1 -
Hi allย
Wishing you a Happy New Year ๐
We have not yet heard anything about my daughter's WCA, but not expecting to to be honest, given the length of time some people here seem. to be waiting..ย
Can I ask though, as her appointee, is it likely she will still have to have a face to face assessment or is it more likely to be a phone call? -
I don't know how an assessment would normally apply, for appointees
Thanks so much

Lots of assessments are still taking place through phone call, if this is what she needs then as her appointee then you'll be able to talk on her behalf. When i did my daughters WCA for her last year the assessor did ask if my daughter was at home and she was, so she asked if she could just say hello to her. My daughter then took the phone and said "hello" and passed it back to me.If the assessment is face to face then you're daughter will be expected to attend with you but you'll be able to answer all the questions on her behalf.0

Hi @poppy123456
Thank you ๐
I do talk to the UC work coach on her behalf, so this is a relief as I was unsure what to expect, she would never elaborate on her struggles as she's often not even aware of them.ย
I read that 3 months is the 'usual' wait time for a response following the return of the UC50 form, would you say that's a fair estimate and if we don't hear anything by then, should I chase it up?ย
Thank youย
