Hi how is everyone doing today. It arranged yesterday I'm getting care support for 6 week's lady coming round Tuesday at 10 am takes about 2 hours to do  assessment. It's short term care will know after few weeks if need long term care. Will help wash me wash my hair help me get dressed when my husband at work. According to pip I can get in out bath without husband's help I can get dressed undressed. I can't do these things as my left shoulder and arm is useless has no strength. If I didn't need help I wouldn't be getting care from outside

@Toffee2022 Hello, I'm doing alright thank you. How are you?

It's lovely to hear you will be getting this support in the short term. I imagine it will be a relief and hopefully it will make a different to your daily life and lessen those challenges faced.

Did you decide to go to tribunal to appeal the Mandatory Reconsideration? And if you did, have you accessed some support along the way?

I hope so, but if we can be of assistance at any point just give us a shout. Take care you!

Hi I did mandatory reconcideration and I not got decision letter yet but was told when phoned pip nothing changed so next step is tribunal but seeing as they don't listen or read all evidence sent so far not holding out much hope.

So far your claim has been looked at by DWP. When you appeal to the tribunal it is the tribunal who now have to make a decision in place of the DWP. 'They' are therefore now different and the tribunal is completely independent of DWP.

You really shouldn't stop taking any medication without first speaking to your GP. Is there any reason why you're not going to take it anymore?

You are welcome @Toffee2022. It is the very least you deserve. You aren't bothering us! What makes you think you are bothering people?

It sounds like you are experiencing a really difficult time at the moment. What, if anything, might help things to feel more manageable?

Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you. We are all here for you and listening to you.

We are glad you are here with us, talking to us and being so open with us. You don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to  <3

Hi @Toffee2022 :) It's good to hear from you, though I'm sorry it's not under better circumstances. I've sent you an email from community@scope.org.uk, so please do keep an eye out for that if you can.

Please remember that the following organisations are there for you, should you need someone to talk to who'll listen without judgement:

    • Samaritans: call 116 123, or email jo@samaritans.org
    • SHOUT: text SHOUT to 85258 to speak to a volunteer over text
    • CALM: call 0800 58 58 58, or use their live web chat, between 5pm and 12am
You should always call 999 or visit A&E in the case of an emergency.

Is your GP aware of how you've been feeling lately, and that you've been considering stopping taking your medication? I'd encourage you to speak to them about what's been going on if you haven't already. They should be able to point you towards some sources of support, and talk you through your options. It's important not to stop taking medication without supervision or guidance from a doctor or pharmacist.

Is anyone with you at the moment?

You're definitely not bothering anyone on the community. We're all here to support you :)

I'm now overdrawn about to run out of gas . I have a prepayment meter. I will have to phone them up to find out what hell going on.

Good morning everyone . Yesterday had assessment with a lovely lady called Julie. She came to my home she works for Buckinghamshire council.she did assessment for care. It starts today it's for 6 week's if need long term will know towards end of 6 week's. Showed her need help get in out of bath I can use my right arm only . This is a struggle and it's not safe. She has orded me equipment and having grab rails put in around bath. I will have someone come in help strip wash me wash parts I can't wasgmh my hair by me leaning over bath again can only use one arm to do this. They are going to help get me dressed  as I can't undress or dress without help. I wouldn't have been given this help if I was able to do myself as oil claim. I told pip I can go out as long as with my husband .can't go out on my own. They have stated I do not have physcoligucal distress when I go out when I do. They also stated can't go on any journey as causes me physcoligucal distress.

    Hello @Toffee2022

I'm so please to hear you have your care in place for the next 6 weeks, and the equipment has been ordered for you :) Hopefully if needed, there won't be any delays in the extension 🤞

How are you feeling today? Have you continued taking your medication? I was once in similar position, taking medication, still not well but my consultant saying I was fine, and I got another opinion. With your situation, have you thought about contacting your MP? or attending one of their surgery days?

@toffee22 as someone who took many different medications over the years, I ask that you still continue to. At least until you've spoken to your doctor. I wouldn't like you to end up letting them effect your treatment plan too. Don't let them have that satisfaction! It is ultimately your choice; I wouldn't want you to think I'm being preachy; I just want you to be as well as you can be <3

I would think about speaking to your MP, they can send letters, make appointments and make enquiries on your behalf. Having an MP continually email you and ask for an update isn't a great look 😉
