Struggling to find affordable homes

Hello everyone! Let me give you some context before the question. I am a 30 year old man who has arthritis on his left hip, trochanteric bursitis on the same hip and a hip replacement, dyslexia, dyspraxia, add and possible autism (waiting for assessment).

I have recently found myself single and have had to move back to my parents. I have a makeshift room but the room has mold, freezing and extremely humid...to say this is unsuitable to me due to pain is underselling it. 

I've tried to find affordable housing for myself but I do not have access to public funds. I only earn £1200 a month and can't get any benefits, I lose at least half of my wages in child support, travel to work and to help my parents with electricity bills as I need a heater on at most times.

Does anyone know anywhere or anyone who could help in my situation?

    I'm sorry to hear that I couldn't imagine what it's like to go through a break up.

    Not yet,  at the moment I'm trying to focus on stabilising my life and physical pain

    I'm also sorry to hear about your breakup. Are your parents, or anyone else in your support network, able to offer you emotional support to help you get through this challenging time? 

    In terms of affordable housing, it can unfortunately be quite difficult to secure. Have you had a look to see if there are any housing associations in your area?

    Do you mind me asking if you've looked into PIP at all?

    I'm not entitled to PIP due to no recourse to public funding. I have my parents so at least I got them.

    And yes, it's good that your parents are there to support you :)

    Sadly,  I'm not allowed any benefits so housing associations can't house me.

    Then privately renting is your only option however, the rent can be very expensive depending on the area you live.

    Yeah,  it's really rough. Specially with the cost of living going up.

    I'm so sorry to hear about your breakup. I'm glad to hear you have support from your parents.

    I think that renting privately may be the way to go like Poppy said. I know you said it is rough at the moment, especially with the cost of living. I know a few people who house share to help keep costs down.
