Hello. Me again
My current circumstances are.
I am employed on a 20 hour contract.
I get pip enhanced daily living allowance and standard mobility.
I wish to claim working tax credits disability element. Straight forward in the old days.
However I have to make a claim of Universal Credit. Is this correct?
How does this work and how does tax credits show on universal credit?
I am very confused about it. Please forgive my ignorance. I'm not use to this new system.
Thanks

Tax credits and UC are 2 completely different benefits.
UC is means tested so whether you’re entitled to anything will depend on your circumstances. If you live with a partner you claim as a couple and your joint circumstances will be taken into consideration. If you have savings capital of more than £16,000 you’re excluded from claiming.
There’s no disability element to UC like there was with tax credits.
For UC you will need to go through a work capability assessment and send in fit notes from your GP. If found to have LCWRA then you'll be entitled to an extra £354.28/month from the 4th month after you reported your health condition.First thing you need to do is to use a benefits calculator to check entitlement. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator/Intro/Home?cid=863744bc-5a8c-441c-bc02-a92227afc5b40 -
If you're entitled, there's some information about UC with a health condition here. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition-quick-guide/universal-credit-if-you-have-a-disability-or-health-condition

Just to add to be clear - you cannot make a new claim for Tax Credits. If you already have a Tax Credits award then you can get the disabled worker element added by contacting HMRC.0
