Dla child

Hello! Posted this in wrong section earlier. I had a phone call earlier offering me a middle rate dla for my son rather than going to tribunal which I accepted. I was too shocked to ask but anyone know how long it takes to come through?

    Hello,

I applied for dla for my son back in may. Mandatory reconsideration turned down so I went tribunal. Today they offered us middle rate for care needs and low for mobility which I’m thrilled about. Does anyone know how long it takes once you accept an offer to receive money?

Hello @adhdmum87 As far as I am aware, you'll receive a letter stating when the first payment date will be.

It may take a few weeks to pay what is owed to you. Usually you'll receive this before the decision letter. If you were only just offered the award then you may not receive any payment until after Christmas.
I don't know if you're aware of this but once the award is in payment if you're not happy with that award you can then request the Tribunal again. Your waiting time will start from the beginning again though.

Thank you :) yes I’m happy to get this to be honest. It’s been such a slog I can’t wait to see the back of it all for a while!

So you're not claiming any other benefits at all? Are you a full time student?
