We were appealing 3 points of the descriptors and they said they agreed with dwp, they were nice enough but hard to take

So you weren't awarded any extra points? Which likely means your current award remained the same. If there was any risk to your current i would have expected them to give you a warning, either before the day of the hearing or on the day of the hearing and then the hearing would have been adjourned.

When was the hearing? Have you received the decision letter yet because it will give more details in there.

That letter will be delayed because of the Royal Mail strikes today and tomorrow. Have a look at the letter to see exactly what that decision was and you should know from there whether your existing award is still in place.

I'm aware that quite a few of our members use the Motability scheme, so I hope they'll see and respond to your comment soon @mickeymouse :)

In the meantime, you might find it helpful to read through Motability's website to understand more about how it works, and whether it's right for you.

I've had a mobility car since 2016 and am currently on my 3rd car and for me yes it's worth it! Th eonly downfall to it now is that a lot of the advance payments are very high. When i first joined the scheme in 2016 they we so much lower then.
The other downside is that the wait for your new vehicle could be several months or more depending on the chocie of car/spec.
There's lot of information on the website linked above.
