Hello all, Is it common to receive a payment before a letter arrives?, As Royal Mail have been on Strike and I have no idea when it will arrive, Also another question, As I got Awarded Enhanced on both parts, Will I be Eligible for the Cost Of Living Payment as my original application for PIP was in April last year, Thank you.

Hi and welcome
Yes it is normal to get payment before letter as they are processed at same time and money transfers quicker

Thank you, I had my Tribunal on Tuesday, Received a Email saying a Letter has been posted on Wednesday, I’m assuming i will get a payment sometime this week as it stated a letter will arrive before the 14th.janer1967 said:Hi and welcome

As I advised in your other thread the letter you’re waiting for is likely from the Tribunal.Erniethegreat said:

Yes you should get pip col paymentIt’s very unlikely that you will receive any money owed this week. The money owed to you isn’t coming from the Tribunal, they have nothing to do with paying what’s owed to you. It’s not unusual for a wait of around several weeks sometimes less after a Tribunal win to receive any money owed.
The Tribunal will have also sent a letter to DWP confirming your award. As I advised on your other thread before paying what’s owed you will be contacted by DWP to ask if you’ve been in prison or hospital. Once that’s done they should pay you what’s owed within a couple of weeks. As it’s now very close to Christmas you may not receive what’s owed until after Christmas.1 -
Good evening all, I just had a call from DWP asking me have I been in Hospital/ Prison Etc.. does anyone know what happens after this, As I have no idea. Thank you.0

Sorry for my previous advice I thought you were referring to dwp award and not tribunal as poppy advice it takes longer for back pay
They usually adm those questions so they can calculate your payment correctly and make sure they have correct bank details1 -
Thank you, They advised me it’ll be around 4 weeks until I receive a payment, but maybe a bit longer as it’s Christmas and there are some bank holidays, They said I should receive a text message when a letter has been sent out, I’m assuming the letter they sent last week was from The Tribunal.janer1967 said:Sorry for my previous advice I thought you were referring to dwp award and not tribunal as poppy advice it takes longer for back pay

Yes, it would be from HMCTS and not DWP.

Much better now it’s out of the way, 21 months it taken all together, I worked it out that is around 90 weeks of back pay I should receive I think I’m not quite sure how to work it out, The lady on the phone told me it will be around 3-4 weeks until I receive I payment and look out for a Text Message, Thank you for asking
