Good Morning, happy Monday that feels like a Sunday!
Lots of cleaning needed today, luckily didn’t drink a lot yesterday (not a huge fan) so managed to get a good rest although was in bed a little later. I hope you have a relaxing day whatever you are up to.1 -

I hope you have a great day today, and that your son and his wife don't let you do too much of the cooking!!

Good morning @Teddybear12
No leftovers for us as we had lots of hungry people who gobbled up all the dinner. But we have a beef joint for today for a nice roast.
I hope you enjoy your day, too.1 -

Good afternoon everyone there's 5 pages to catch up with and I'm 2 lazy to look through it all. Have you had a good Christmas everyone and what are your Boxing Day plans?1
-
As thrilling as it sounds, I’ll likely be asleep this afternoon. Food-wise ;-I don’t have any left overs, in fact everything I brought for Christmas that’s crammed full in the fridge, small freezer above the fridge and a larger table top freezer. I think over the past week, the only meals I’ve had has been microwaved Mac ‘n’ Cheese twice.I picked up this long lasting cold/flu bug that’s going around. I went to the pharmacy for something after it didn’t clear up by itself after a week, the woman behind the pharmacy counter said her dad had this bug 10 weeks! Wow, I feel lousy and over-emotional after just two weeks of it. But I’ve lost my appetite. I did try eating a microwave dinner early but I couldn’t taste the meat and the sprouts, carrots and roasties tasted how I imagine a mouthful of paste to be. I can’t do a Covid test - as I found out on previous attempts months back, I can’t see what I’m doing.
But I’m trying to believe it’s just this Christmas cold/flu bug as I have my eye hospital injection Thursday. On the plus side, I won’t have to food shop again for quite some time hahaha1 -
@Biblioklept thanks, me too. In one way living on my own is beneficial as I make a lousy patient when I’m not well. I’m just more concerned about that appointment. I can’t believe though after all the gorgeous food I got in, I have no appetite. At least the cheeses and nicer frozen stuff will keep till I feel better.1
-
@Jules_H Oh no, that sounds awful to contend with. I really hope you begin to feel better soon and regain your appetite. Imagine all those festive choccies, just waiting to be eaten! My husband has had the same thing and is struggling to come round, so I know a little of how you're feeling.
Also, I'm sorry we didn't pick up on you not wanting notifications for this thread. Before I do it, are you happy for me to de-select 'Notify me when people comment on discussions I've participated in' from your profile settings? Give us a shout, and we'll do that asap1 -
@Cher_Scope i eventually managed to sort out the notifications thing, though I can’t figure out why the three horizontal lines in the top left ask me to sign in or register even though I am logged in.
How long has your husband had this bug for? It’s certainly not nice, normally if I catch a cold it’s gone in just over a week without any cold/flu medications but as this one isn’t showing signs of clearing up, I got some capsules for it. It doesn’t matter what I add to hot lemsips, it always still tastes nasty.
I was watching the food ads on tv, they looked so mouth watering I couldn’t resist. So as soon as this bug clears, I’m having my belated Christmas feast with all the goodies out over a few days.2 -
Afternoon all, I declined everyone coming over for Chinese as I've been cleaning all day and had the kids, now I'm shattered and just need to rest, there all doing it at another families house. Bought me fish n chips over. So cuppa and feet up2
-
@Jules_H I’m glad you got there in the end. I understand the confusion too; those three lines in the top left hand corner navigate to commonly used community places our members wish to visit. The best place to look in relation to your own account and profile is your photo on the top right hand side and the drop down options there. My husband has had been poorly on and off for almost three weeks. He’s very chesty and has tried all sorts including bed rest. It’s a difficult one to overcome, all I hear is him coughing! I hope you feel better soon. It’s definitely doing the rounds.1
-
I'm sorry to hear that you are poorly @Jules_H and I'm sorry your husband is poorly @Cher_Scope have you been to see a doctor. My Anties dad has been poorly with it.1
-
@Cher_Scope it must be frustrating for you listening to the constant coughing, three weeks is a long time.I keep remembering what the woman from the pharmacy said, about her dad having it 10 weeks. I know at first we tend to understand, but after a while it can become annoying if you can hear it all around the house, it’s one of the reasons I’m glad I live on my own.I think for me, it’s not so much my cough, it’s the runny blocked nose. Trying to blow my nose gets me nowhere because it’s so blocked, but then the constant sniffing just keeps giving me a headache all the time. I’m sleeping a lot during the day and still grateful when I can crawl into bed. If I didn’t have to get up for the cat, I’d stay in bed till it passed.1
