I am just wondering if other people are waiting to be transferred from ESA to PIP, I have a lifetime award, but I am reading that it means nothing when you transfer over.

    Hello @42Lee and a warm welcome to the community.

    ESA and PIP are different benefits and it isn’t possible to transfer from one to the other.
    Could you mean ESA and transferring to Universal Credit or DLA and transferring to PIP?

    As Adrian said there is no such thing as a transfer from ESA to PIP.

    DLA to PIP transfers should have been completed a long time ago but haven't yet been finished and were suspended for a while. There are people still waiting - although you can apply for PIP voluntarily without being asked if you think that is beneficial. Those in Scotland will not transfer to PIP because it has been replaced by the Adult Disability Payment.

    Given that PIP has been swamped by a huge increase in new claims I can't see them managing to progress DLA to PIP transfers any time soon. Although it's now 9 years since they started the process I think there are still about 250,000 waiting to be called for transfer!

    If you mean ESA to UC then they have barely started and have now been delayed util 2028.

    Yes, sorry, I meant DLA to pip. I am dreading going through it after all the horror stories I have read about the process.

    Afternoon @42Lee welcome to our great group, the best forum on line, my opinion anyway.
    Is it the PIP process your worried about, i know it can be stressful but we do have a lot of members that have had good experiences and out come.

    There's still many many people that are yet to be invited to apply for PIP and are still claiming DLA. Providing you were born after 9th April 1948 then you will be invited to apply at some point (unless you live in Scotland) then you maybe invited to apply for Adult Disability Payment (ADP) instead.
    When this will be is anyone's guess.

    Hello and welcome @42Lee I can understand why you're feeling so anxious, I transferred from DLA to PIP (quite a few years ago now), and it can be a stressful process!
