PIP Renewal

Hi everyone

Hoping to get a bit of advice, My PIP isn’t due to end until August but today I received a renewal form which I’ve filled in and my partner posted today.

Nothing has really changed since my original telephone assessment in 2020 so I wrote “No Change” in the question box and put details in the box below them.
I’ve included some evidence such as repeat prescription slip, OH Assessment, Housing assessment(why I was moved to a bungalow), letter from my partner and a letter from his work explaining why he works from home now due to my health and well-being.

I wrote on the page at the back about how we are currently awaiting a wet room to be fitted and that we were on waiting list and proof of that etc but I was wondering why the forms arrived 7 months before my claim is due to renew?

I have read online that as I have no changes it’s unlikely they will want to do a F2F meeting but knowing my luck they will, I have spoken with my GP and they have informed me they can provide a sick note so I wouldn’t need to go to F2F and a phone or home visit would be arranged instead, not sure how accurate that would be?

any advice would be appreciated as I’ve never had a renewal before so I’ve no idea what happens now??

My partner took the form to the post office today and got proof of postage as it said I had until 17th Jan to send it back but I was worried about postal strikes etc delaying it so wanted it posted immediately

thanks

Even under normal times they would contact you at least 6 months before. These are not normal times because backlogs for reviews are huge and many people are waiting longer than several months. Infact we have members that are still waiting more than a year after returning their forms. Therefore, receiving your review forms now is normal.
Your existing award will continue until a decision is made on this claim.
I must admit, receiving your form and returning it in the same day is quite amazing, however, i wouldn't have advised you to put "no change" i would always advise everyone to treat all claims as a new claim, even for reviews.

No idea where you read that to but it's not correct. Most people have assessments even for reviews. A fit note will not be needed for your review because it's not about being unable to work and that's what a fit note is for.
If an assessment is needed it will be either by telephone, video call or at an assessment centre. Home assessments no longer exist.

Ah thank you, the review was only a few pages and it said to put no change if nothing had changed, I did go into further details on the explanation box below each question but mostly things have remained the same.
Not sure why my GP told me that then, it would be near impossible for me to get to the nearest review centre which is when he said he would provide a fitness note so I would be able to have phone/video call instead.

I assume they have my original evidence from the start of the claim also?
included everything I could for evidence, The OH report from my accessible homes assessment was quite details so I included a copy of that with the forms

The form asks if there's been any changes, it doesn't tell you to just put no change. Glad to hear you did put some details in the boxes.
A lot of assessments are by telephone anyway but some are face to face. Your GP wouldn't really know that information.
Once your form is received it will be sent to a decision maker. They will then take a look to see if a decision can be made without having to send it to the health assessment providers. If it can't it will be sent accross. My advice is to expect an assessment because most people have them, if a paper based assessment can be completed they will do that.

The top boxes just ask to write if there had been any changes but there hasn’t so I put no change on them parts and in the details part below I wrote how my manage things had remained the same(and what I use/do) for them, included a fair bit of new evidence and a letter from my partner(it said I could use a letter from family)
