Good afternoon @SueHeath I'm glad you got out for a walk.

Sorry to hear that people are still unwell, I hope you all get sorted soon.

I am just relaxing with a glass of port left over from Christmas.

Feeling a little overwhelmed on here today. I don’t like negatively around my mental illnesses. Of which one part I’ve had since birth. I don’t like being doubted or even thought of wrongly.
    just saying how I feel.
I've had cerebral palsy since I was born, so I get you <3

Hi @Ada - I do hope I haven't inadvertently caused you distress. I've maintained an interest in Asperger's as my son met a neuropsychiatrist when he was 19/20. He was tested against results from his peers, which were other Uni students. He excelled in most tests, but not all. Altho this Dr said he wouldn't diagnose our son, he explained that, looking at here is 'normal,' then autism as a spectrum, my son was 'next door' to Asperger's. My son says this was the best Dr he'd ever met, who totally 'got' him.
Now I don't consider my son to necessarily have problems; he just sees things differently, & I would also consider him very intelligent. It gives him strengths, rather than weaknesses! Unfortunately my now ex-husband only recently apologised to me for not believing in this neuropsychiatrist's reports many years ago; he too was embarrased; why?
After reading about Hans Asperger's links to the Nazi's euthanasia programme, I suggested to Scope that they change the category name of 'Autism & Asperger's.' This they have done, but my explanation in no way undermines your diagnosis; as an aside, my own disorder has been re-named 3 times in the past 20+ years.
I worked after qualifying as a physio in the then regional spinal injuries unit, before working with children with cerebral palsy, which was what I wanted to do. This was in a large (1100+ patients mental health hospital), so I do have some knowledge about this. Yes, many children with cerebral palsy (& young adults) were in a mental health hospital! I'll never forget the little boy who'd been battered by his Dad, & was subsequently blind, & nearly completely deaf, nor the lovely lady who used to read me her poems as I went into work, who had been unfortunately institutionalised. Please know I also have some understanding of mental health hospitals, having become the Superintendent Physio of one.
Nothing I said was meant to cause offence; there is no problem in continuing to say you have Asperger's, but some may now consider the name offensive due to Hans Asperger's historical background. I'm just going off what the National Autistic Society say: https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidance/what-is-autism/asperger-syndrome

Nothing to be sorry for @Ada - just pleased we're OK. I mistakenly thought I'd caused offence, which I'd never want to do.
You come across fine. Just saying I have a little understanding about some things due to my background, & of course my son. He has problems socialising, but met this lovely person who is now his wife; they're a great team, tho she teases how did I ever put up with him!
His first date with her was to take her to see a film at the cinema, his second to go to Flamingo Land to see the animals. He's really into big cats, so even on their honeymoon they visited a zoo, & went to a sanctuary where there was this certain big cat, the only one in captivity in the UK.
He's a delight to me, & always will be. It would be a sad world if we were all the same. I celebrate that which makes him different, but certainly interesting!

I've went back to my bed as I'm just so tired I'm not sleeping too good at all lately. Think the PIP assessment is playing on my mind tbh

My fibromyalgia certainly is playing up as I'm waking up during the night with the dreaded pins and needles feeling on my face, jaw thankfully the splints I wear on my hands help in regards to my hands.

I'm planning on resting for a wee hour then I plan to get up and chill out with some film atm its between Twilight or Dirty Dancing.
