Pip and emotional unstable personality disorder

Good morning all, I'm new to this group. I have emotional unstable personality disorder and have applied to pip on the advice of my wellbeing counsellor. I'm am unsure of how the assessment went. I tried to be as thorough as I could be found it hard to describe the things I go through on a daily basis. I also work a full time job which I feel will go against me. The reason I force my self to go to work is to keep my mental health as well as I can and also to pay the bills  Without work my mental health spirals even worse than it is now.

Has anyone who has eupd been successful claiming pip and what were your experiences?

PIP isn’t awarded based on any diagnosis. Lots of people claim successfully because of mental health conditions but you can’t compare yourself to someone else because we are all affected differently.

Hi poppy thank you for your comment. My anxiety is through the roof awaiting the decision. I'm hoping no news is good news. It's been with case manager for 2 weeks now but I'm aware there are backlogs especially due to Christmas

No news is simply that - no news. When the Decision Maker makes a decision you will be notified.

It can take up to about 12 weeks for a decision once the report is returned to DWP.

Hi @bradders88 :) Thanks for reaching out to us.

As the others have explained, PIP isn't awarded based on a diagnosis, and many people with mental health conditions successfully claim PIP. PIP also isn't about your ability to work, so this shouldn't work against you so long as the work you're doing doesn't contradict what you've said about how your condition affects you.

I also find working is good for my mental health. Do you enjoy your job?

@Tori_Scope I really enjoy my job it helps keep me grounded I think. In regards to the  pip awarded I struggle with negative thoughts and assumptions and low self belief so you can imagine how my mind is working over time! Glad I joined the group as people seem lovely on here and are here to help.

I'd like to think our members are friendly and helpful @bradders88 :) I look forward to seeing more of your posts and comments!

Yes, I can imagine this would be a trigger. Is there anything you could do that usually helps you to reduce the negative thoughts?

    HI

ALL hope everyone  is  in good health  and had a good Xmas.

Happy New year to you  all.
May it bring  good health and  happiness. Ameen.

    I'm stressed  badly today .
Checked bank account pip  has put in £ 1000  .

I can only assume  its back payed  as my copd was not looked into  previously  as the assessor  had said on my assessment   in dec 7 22

Tried to call but unsuccessful  .

Checked emails to see why this has occurred. As pip have agreed  to send me correspondence  via emails

Can anyone shed a light on this

Potentially a higher award, other than that we can only guess and you'll need to wait for the decision letter. If it comes by post then it could be a couple of weeks.
