Hi
I am writing to see if anyone knows of any grants/help towards motorbility car deposit? I looked at nil deposit ones and they are just too small so therefore did not suit my needs. I have chosen one but the deposit is £1000
I ordered because I knew I could cover it (due March) over christmas I have had a bereavement which has taken any money I had. I am now panicking as what to do.
Thanks in advance for any advice, hope your all well.

Speak to Motability and see if they can help with the deposit. You have nothing to loose.0

Sorry for your loss. That does leave you in a difficult position.
Motability themselves offer grants to help with the Advance Payment. However, the claim for those can only be made before ordering the car as far as I'm aware.
You could apply for a bank loan or a credit card. But with both of those you'd have to know you could pay them back at a later date.
Is the car available right now? If not, it's worth asking for a rough ETA as some cars still have several months wait. Just wondering if you might be in a better financial situation in a few months time.0 -
OverlyAnxious is correct and as you've already ordered your vehicle motability will not fund anything towards this.We are not able to award a grant if you have already ordered your vehicle. This is because when you place an application for a grant, our Case Managers will consider your individual circumstances and confirm which vehicles the charity is prepared to fund based on your mobility needs, not wantsMore details here. https://www.motability.org.uk/charitable-grants/scheme-related-grant-programmes/grants-for-cars-and-vehicle-adaptations/I'd also advise to speak to the dealer to see when the vehicle is expected for delivery. If it's quite soon and you're not able to pay the advance payment you will need to speak to motability to cancel the order.
