Feeling So Low

I am going through the mill mentally at the moment. My employer is having issues with maintaining the building to the point where there has been leaks of toilet effluent stinking out the building. I have had coughs, sneezes and colds since 18/12/22. My walking is worsening due to spastic paraparesis. This is my main cause of feeling low.
I welcome any supportive feedback.

That's a terrible situation.
You really need a plan of action to deal with it.
a) Are there other employees?
b) Is it a large firm? Does it have a Human Resources department?
c) It breaks Health & Safety Regulations, a health hazard, you (other employees too) could notify your employer, that if it's not fixed, the Council will informed, then they will be forced to fix the problem and other sanctions could follow.
d) You could also speak to the Health and Safety Executive.

thank you. The worse thing is that our union is doing very little.0

Bypass the local Union Rep, speak to their Head Office. I've done that before.Chemist243 said:thank you. The worse thing is that our union is doing very little.
You can also speak to ACAS. Don't suffer in silence. Tell them that this is to do with Health & Safety, if employees fall seriously ill then both the company and Union could be held responsible.
You could approach the company about the matter informally.
If they don't sort it out, lodge a formal grievance in writing, then follow the company's
grievance procedure.

Hi there and welcome
As above this is health and safety issue which needs resolving and if you are not getting any action from the employer your union should be stepping in on behalf of its members
You need to be standing as a collective group it isn't just your issue
As above acas and hse should be able to advise1 -
Hello there @Chemist243 and thanks for reaching out, things can be tough when they pile up one after the other.
As others have advised I'd encourage you to have a look at ACAS to find information and guidance and see if they can help support you.I have had coughs, sneezes and colds since 18/12/22. My walking is worsening due to spastic paraparesis. This is my main cause of feeling low.Have you been able to contact your GP surgery since you started feeling unwell? I'm sorry to hear about your walking getting worse, do you have any specialist support to help with your mobility besides your GP?
We're all here to support you with how you're feeling, so if we've missed anything please let us know, and we'll do what we can to help

Glad you are feeling a little better @Chemist24. Please don't hesitate to let us know if there's anything else we can do to support you, even if that's just listening to you.
We are all here for you and listening to you. You don't have to face this, or anything else, alone if you don't want to.
Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soon
