Hi
If I am on UC and I receive LCWRA and I am self employed, every month I do my income and expenses. Because I do delivery work I work like to hire someone I know to help me for the shift and I would then pay them a daily amount.
Can I include this as an expense when doing my income and expenditure? Because my gross profit will be after expenses and after I have paid him for his help during the week.
Thank you for any information.
Regards,

Leaving aside the matter of benefits you need to make sure you understand your responsibilities as an employer and the rights of your employee. You will need to understand how you pay them and whether or not you need to tax from their wage and also NI. Becoming an employer is not something to take on lightly.
Wages to employees are an allowable expense for UC.
