Benefit help for me

Sorry I forgot to ask on my last query I am my husbands full time carer on universal credit so I get the carers element & carers allowance I was receiving lcwra but they took me off and gave it to my husband I got refused pip even though I have depression, anxiety, panic attacks, I hardly leave the house unless it is to take my husband to appointments or need to go to the shop as I panic with face to face interaction, arthritic neck, spondylosis in my back, sciatica in my left leg,  brachioradial pruritus & an unknown blood condition which affects my hands & forearms the specialist doesn't even know what it is, I do get suicidal thoughts but would not act on them due to my husband & family, my gp sent a letter supporting my claim hospital records am now awaiting tribunal as dwp gave me 0 points. Anyway my question is if there is any other benefit I should apply for as universal credit deducts the carers allowance & esa. Many thanks

    Your husband getting the LCWRA element and you getting the carer element is correct in your circumstances. You can’t both get the LCWRA element.

    That’s correct. You would get the same amount overall even if you didn’t claim CA or ESA but he is getting Class 1 NI credits from the ESA.

    Are you claiming Council Tax Reduction from your local authority. Rules differ between local authorities.

    The only other benefit is PIP.

    When was that decision made. Unless you have done so already, if it is less than 13 months ago you can still do a Mandatory Reconsideration and then on to tribunal if necessary. You will need to give a short reason why you didn’t do this within one month - but if DWP refuse to accept the MR because it’s ‘late’ you can go straight to tribunal. (From one of your previous threads I know you are familiar with the process which I think was from your husband’s claim.)
    If you have already appealed and been refused you can still make a new claim.

    They are waiting for a Tribunal date.

    Hi poppy yes the mandatory decision was made and came back again with 0 points for anything even when my gp said with pain I can only walk 50-100 metres the decision maker said he has decided I can walk over 200 metres???  I have to buy prepared foods as if I cut/burn or knock my hands I either bruise or bleed profusely & only know when I see the blood. There were 0 points to everything both on the assessment & the reconsideration.  Penpo

    That sounds frustrating @penpo :( Are you receiving any support to help you with your tribunal?

    I'm glad to hear that you don't feel you'd act on your suicidal thoughts, though it does seem as though you're struggling quite a bit with your mental health at the moment. Is your GP aware of your suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks? Are you receiving any support for your mental health conditions?

    Missed that! 

    Penpo, the tribunal is a completely independent assessment of your claim. 

    If you think you haven’t explained in your previous evidence how your health affects you now is the time to do it.
