Hi,
I've currently been out of work for 7 weeks and still haven't found the job I'm looking for (currently living off savings) and still actively seeking work. Am I therefore eligible to claim a benefit for the 7 weeks out of work? although I may find a job soon,
Thanks.

If your savings are below £16,000 it would be sensible to claim UC.
If your savings are over £16,000 you can claim new style JSA if you have a complete NI record for tax years 2020-21 and 2021-22.
You never know how long it will take you to get a job and even when you do you could have to wait several weeks before you get paid.0 -
