Disabled child element backdated

Hi so I’m a little confused on how UC works with this and any help would be appreciated.
so my son was awarded Middle rate care on DLA. I got the decision letter in December and it was backdated to July (the date that I called for the forms)
I updated UC as soon as I got the letter but I’m wondering if they will backdate it the disabled child element and carers to the time DLA was backdated too so July or will they just backdate from when I informed them In December.
I couldn’t inform UC any sooner as a decision hadn’t been made so I couldn’t tell them information I didn’t know without having the decision letter from DLA.however I did tell them as soon as I could.
sorry if my spelling grammar etc isn’t good I’m dyslexic and struggle writing or typing out what I would like to say.
thanks for any help in advance

It should be backdated to the assessment period in which the changes took place, which was when you rang to start the DLA claim. For the carers element, did you report a change of circumstances, then click caring for someone and then report caring for him for at least 35 hours per week? For the carere element, this assumes you're not claiming LCWRA element for yourself. If you do, are you claiming UC with a partner?1

I did I reported the middle rate and that I care more than 35 hours a week.
it’s just me and my son I don’t claim anything else like that just standard uc for me,my son and the dla for him now too0 -
Then you will be entitled to both elements. Any money owed will be paid separately to your usual monthly payment. If you reported the changes in December when you had the DLA decision and haven't had both elements included in your statement then put a message onto your journal under the payment section and ask about both elements.
