Dismissal

My son is 47 with Asperger syndrome (among other disabilities). he has worked for the same company for 25 years. Sadly it looks very much like he's going to get the sack, for reasons I will not go into at the moment.  I am 80 next year and disabled myself and  my wife and I are finding it hard to cope with it all. I've been told he will not get any form of benefit if he is dismissed, is this correct? where can we go for help? we have power of attorney over his finance and health as he has no idea about normal day to day living and does not interact with people and has just shut himself away in his bedroom.

    Just wanting to comment to see what the outcome of this situation was? Did they end up letting your son go from the company?

    Hello Hannah, thank you for asking, we got his union involved and the case against him was dismissed. He had been suspended (on full pay) for three weeks so it was a very nervous for all of us! The moral of the story is make sure you are in a good union.
