Hello, I am creating this post as I have a quick question, me and my brother are doing a joint tenancy and we both plan to claim housing element in each of our universal credit claims separately as we have separate claims. My question is this, is the only evidence we need to upload a the complete tenancy agreement as that is what it says online. It’s just I won’t have any other proof straight away as I would have only just moved in so would the complete tenancy agreement on its own be okay for UC to award each of us our housing elements?

Proof of liability to pay rent such as a tenancy agreement is all you need.

Hi there, I just received some info from a family member that sometimes you have to submit proof of address when claiming for housing costs so uploading a ultility bill or council tax bill as well as the tenancy agreement, is this correct because I won’t have any of that when I first move in so I’m a bit worried about what’s going to happen.

Your family member isn’t correct, a tenancy agreement is all you will need.
