If I request to be in the support group as I am presently in the WRAG would this mean that I would be transferred to UC

You need a daily living award of PIP for this. You also need to live alone or be treated as living alone, no other adults living with you unless they either claim a qualifying disability benefit theirself or they are registered blind. No one must claim either carers allowance or carers element of UC for looking after you.0 -
If you receive income based ESA and you live alone (or are treated as living alone) or other adults you live with also get a disability benefit and you get awarded Daily Living PIP and nobody claims Carers Allowance or carer element of UC for looking after you then you would be claim SDP in the ESA.KRLG said:Thanks for the response Calcotti, would I be able to claim the SDP if my PIP claim is successful?0 -
Thanks Poppy123456 and if get DL awarded would the IR/ESA be increased for the SDP or would I have to claim which may trigger a UC claim as you can see I panic that I may taken off ESA and put on UC0

Whether you qualify for SDP if you're successfully awarded daily living PIP will depend on who you live with, as advised here.poppy123456 said:You also need to live alone or be treated as living alone, no other adults living with you unless they either claim a qualifying disability benefit theirself or they are registered blind. No one must claim either carers allowance or carers element of UC for looking after you.1

At the moment the only things that will end your ESA are
- if you choose to end UC, or
- you start to live with someone as a partner who already gets UC
- or you come into capital which takes you over £16,000.
Everything thing you have asked about are just changes to your ESA.
The government currently intend to require you to apply for UC in 2028, some quite a long time before then.
