Hello I've had hyperhidrosis for along as I can remember but for over 15years it's been impossible for me to get out ofthe house ,can't get on a bus ,taxi or train I get so angry if I'm made to go out in public.
I've also got a back problem what I got 4 points for in both parts of my assessment so 4 an 4 but to be told they hadn't even considered my hyperhidrosis as I don't go to counselling what I thought was a joke as whats some1 going to say to me to make me feel like it's OK to look ringin wet and go out in public. Obviously that's not going to stop me sweating! I get botox from the hospital twice a year in my face and head, an a dermatologist letter explaining that he would like to stress this doesn't stop my sweating. An the hyperhidrosis has a massive impact on my quality of life. My MR is being looked at 4 a second time. But what right have they got to completely ignore something that has had a massive impact on my mental health?. Is it a good thing they r relooking at my MR again Or??if anyone could help me with understanding how they can just over look something that has had a big impact on my life. Thanks

Not attending therapy or counselling is one of the usual copy and paste reasons for not awarding points in a descriptor.

PIP isn't about a diagnosis, it's how those conditions affect you against the 12 PIP activities. Usually when the MR decision is made, if you're not happy then proceed to Tribunal. What's the reason why they are looking at the MR again? Most MR decisions don't change anyway.

Am not sure, the only reason is that I was very upset they didn't consider my hyperhidrosis it's not about my diagnosis it affects every part of my life stopped me from having a life. There's no way I can get on any kind of public transport as I'm always ringin wet couldn't give money to any1 as my hands r the same. I can't even go on my step because of the way people look qt me. So isn't it normal 4 them to relook at my MR? I didn't think it was am just hoping I don't have to go to a tribunal to let them look at me an make me feel even worse about my self if they say yes on how I look.

It rarely happens for them to look again at the MR decision.
If the MR doesn’t change you can proceed to Tribunal. Most hearings are done by telephone anyway so you wouldn’t have to appear in person.

You’re welcome. Please make sure you don’t request a paper based hearing because these have a very low success rate.

It’s when they make a decision based on paper evidence alone. If it gets to Tribunal stage you can also get some expert advice https://advicelocal.uk/welfare-benefits

After 13 months of waiting my tribunal was Monday! I still can't believe it all I had was a letter from my dermatologist and obviously letting them c what hyperhidrosis is . It was degrading sitting letting people judge me by the way I look. But I got low livin allowance but high mobility, was it worth feeling this degraded I'm still not sure but just thought I would say I did win it.

I'm very pleased that your tribunal was successful, tho sorry it felt difficult for you.
Altho PIP isn't about a diagnosis, I feel on this occasion your hyperhidrosis was poorly understood initially, which must have been both frustrating & upsetting. I hope you will feel that your tribunal was indeed worth it in the days to come. Your success may very well help someone else to consider a tribunal, so thank you.
