Hi I’m looking for a bit of advice I receive pip just now and will be getting moved onto the social security payment next month I was diagnosed with osteopenia a few years ago which has now left me with pains and burning in my knees and feet when I walk or when I stand for to long which will sometimes result in my knees popping out of place and leaving me in extreme pain and unable to move for about 10 minutes does anyone know if I’d be entitled to mobility payment I should have been receiving the mobility when I got pip but the dwp basically called me a liar when I explained I couldn’t go on public transport by myself if I don’t know the journey im autistic so it can be very stressful if I’d ever get on the wrong bus thank you

    I can hear how difficult things are for you at the moment. Unfortunately, I do not have the answer to your question. Though you have rightly identified, it is based on how you are affected and being unable to move for about 10 minutes is a key factor.

    I am hoping someone with more knowledge about benefits can respond to you soon. In the meantime, as a fellow autistic, I wanted to respond to say I hear you and empathise with you.

    Unfortunately, I don't yet have any tips! I just go on bus routes I am familiar with and avoid other routes. Though, I do find Google Maps helpful. I struggle with reading 'traditional' maps and timetables and Google Maps is clearer for me  :)

    Hello @wanda36. How are you? 

    Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to say whether you would qualify for the mobility part of PIP. Have you looked through the descriptors to see which you think would apply to you?
