I wish I could trim mine myself Ada but I think my motor skills aren't really up to it. I find the hairdressers awkward as well, though on the other hand I have had some lovely conversations, so swings and roundabouts I suppose. I go in infrequently for that very reason though, and they always want to use straighteners on my hair but I hate it. It freaks me out having something so hot close to my face. Maybe when it's a bit longer trimming could be an option. I am also trying to figure out how to care for it. Washing it every day stops scalp problems but is time consuming and a real faff. I just want it long again. I feel like short hair makes me look much older, but when I had long hair and got my first tattoo, I was 26 and mistaken for under 18 haha! Have 3 tattoos now. Contemplating more, though it's funds rather than ideas that are stopping me. I need to keep what I have in savings to pay tuition next year.Ada said:Morning my pagan friend @JoOfVengerberg hope all goes well at the hairdressers I haven’t been near one for at least 30 years. Think it’s the Asperger because I couldn’t cope with all that chatter they do. And being surrounded by folk. If I could walk in and not feel forced to make conversation It wouldn’t be so bad.
Thsy and I cannot cope with anyone touching me in anyway.
So my hair is long and I trim it myself.1 -
My first one was a Hozier lyric: 'Be still my indelible friend, you are unbreaking' from his song Wasteland, Baby! and I got it to remind me that no matter what I go through I'll be okay. The second one was a video game tattoo from The Witcher. The main character Geralt has a medallion that senses magic. He's a monster hunter and he can do magic and stuff. So I have the wolf medallion design with the 'quen' sign, which is the sign for shield or protection. I chose it because multiple times Geralt protects women from abusers, and I love the game so much I've played 600+ hours of it. The third one is just 'worthy' on my wrist as a reminder.Ada said:Interesting @JoOfVengerberg what tattoos do you have and want.

In terms of ones I want, I'd like a The Last of Us tattoo, 'endure and survive' with a background of plants and fruits. That's also a video game but it's been adapted into a TV show that's on at the moment. There is so much disabled representation and I love it. I'd like to get others, possibly a Hades/Persephone tattoo and there's a very high chance I'll get another Hozier one. I can't recommend his music highly enough, it saved my life. I'm not even being hyperbolic, at the time I felt most alone, I had that music and clung to it with everything I had. When he released his second album and I got to see him on tour I cried. 2 -
