Good morning I currently was awarded lcwra and this was back dated to 13th December 2022 when I first started to claim uc. Could I have some info on how payment dates are calculated please and if possible am I entitled to any back pay.
Many thanks

There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the LCWRA element is then paid from the 4th month of your claim. It starts from when you reported your health condition, providing you sent a fit note within 7 days of this and continued to send them without any gaps until the decision was made on your WCA.If you reported your health condition when you first claimed UC (13th Dec) and you sent your first fit note within 7 days of that then your waiting period will be .. Dec/Jan, Jan/Feb, Feb/March.. LCWRA starts from assessment period 13th March to 12th April and first payment will be 19th April. No LCWRA element is owed. This is assuming you're not claiming UC with a partner that already receives the LCWRA element on your claim. If you or a partner have been receiving earnings from working since you claimed UC and you didn't previously have the work allowance then you maybe owed some money from this. The work allowance will apply from the assessment period in which the changes were reported. (start of your claim for you, if you reported your health condition at the start)0
