Hi guys I applied for lcwra but was refused many time although pip agreed I was unfit for work and signed me off till 2025 uc still said I may be able to apply for work I a years time if my condition gets better. Unfortunately it hasn't so I kept fighting it and kept appealing the knock backs they said in 2019 I was on lcw and I will be recessed for lcwra in a years time but due to covid they said I no longer had to supply fit notes any more as they put me in the work prep group saying I'm not expected to look for work and I had a phone assessment on the 9th Jan 2023 and finally awarded lcwra which they said was added to my uc on the 8th Feb 2023 and said I will get extra money on my.next payday which is 15th of every month but they say I'm not due any backdated payment they haven said how much I will be getting they said its around 350 pound if it was only added on the 8 Feb and my paydays are the 15th every month do anyone know what I should get and why its not getting backdated because if I had the re assessment 17mths after my claim for uc restarted in September 2019 I would of has lcwra then as that's when my health changed and they said I no longer need to send in fit notes can anyone help with this its so confusing and frustrated many thanks guys

Sorry guys just to add to my post my lcwra was added on the 8/2/23 and the said I should get the extra money in my next payment which works out to be 15/3/23 wuch is 5 weeks from when added anyone know what I should get as its over a month my assessment was over the phone on the 9/1/23 which my claim was then successful0

Just so that you're aware PIP didn't find you unfit for work because PIP has nothing to do with your ability to work. For your UC was this a review started by DWP or did you report a change of health condition? If you reported a change condition then i would have expected you to have needed to send fit notes. If it was a review started by DWP then the extra money is paid from the assessment period in which the decision was made.If you reported a change in health condition then it would be from the assessment period in which you reported the changes. Very difficult to follow your question and your timescale isn't clear.0

The up date I had today was the same staff member who told me that I would get my first payment this month march 15th so I lent money to get things needed for my new home and today he oppologised for giving me the wrong information in February now he saying I will get my 1st lcwra in may also they told me on the 21st Jan 2020 not to send in anymore sick notes as they can see I'm unfit for work and my condition has got worst so they said in 2020 I don't need to look for work because I'm unfit and they blamed covid for not being able to get me reassessed until Jan this year via phone call assessment which I was awarded lcwra straight away and it was added to my claim 8th Feb and said I get paid march and now they say its may now I have put myself in debt that has to be paid back march 15th as it was from my mums rent money now I have to pay this with my whole months uc because being given the wrong info0

As i advised, if it was a rewview started by DWP then the extra money should be paid from the assessment period in which the decision was made.If you reported a change to your health condition then it should be from the assessment period in which you reported the changes. You didn't answer this question here.poppy123456 said:For your UC was this a review started by DWP or did you report a change of health condition?0

They told me to stop sending them in and they said coz covid they couldn't assess me until Jan this year I told them about the change back in 2020 when they said they could see my condition has changed so asked me to stop sending fit notes so sorry yes I informed them about it and told the citizen advice believes I'm on the wrong money but I kept getting replys back saying they can't do anything until I've had a assessment again but they couldn't tell me when they kept saying its delayed because covid0

I answered your question on this thread here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/102966/lcwra-back-payment#latest it's very difficult to advise when posting on different threads.

As you can see I was even asking for my assessment back in October again0

I believed I was on wrong group from the start0

As already advised by poppy, if you want to challenge the decision you need to request a Mandatory Reconsideration.0
