I am waiting on any kind of response other than the acknowledgement of receipt on my claim.
Should I renew my fit note as if I was working? My old one has expired.
I don't know when I was paid up to on the old note as I have not yet received my final pay and have no real experience of the unemployment system since 1985.
I dont like to bother my doctor unnecessarily but I would like to find something I can do from home even if its just a few hours for a few months.

You will need continuous fit notes until you have had a work capability assessment and a decision made1 -
If your current fit note has expired then you will need to send another.

It occurs to me that given the current delays I might (realistically) reach retitement age before all this is sorted out (It is less than 5 months to my 65th birthday) - especially since my employers are being so slow with my paperwork.
Is it likely this would be 'settled in arrears'?
I am not stressing about money - if all else fails I have a small self managed pension that will tide me over, but I'd like to use it as a backup plan as it is a small amount of money.0 -
