    You are legally entitled to notice pay which should be detailed in your contract and any outstanding and accruef holiday pay 

    Sine employers also make a severance payment but this isn't a legal requirement

    I haven't actually received it yet, but yes. I was told I will get 12 weeks with my final pay.

    Yes you do accrue during your notice period the end of your notice period is the date your contract is terminated

    Do you get your notice pay at the end of the 12 weeks notice. Or could they end your contract with immediate effect and give you your notice pay then... If you know what I mean

    I know what you mean 

    Most will pay you in lieu of notice eg in your next pay due but not all depends on their policy

    I will apparently get everything I am due (12 weeks notice, outstanding sick pay, unused holidays and location allowance) as my last month's money for 2022/23 so I'm guessing that the tax man will be happy!

    When my friend was invalided out, she got hers as if she worked them.

    I've been asked to get a SSP1 form from my employers (apparently it is a statement proving the date they paid your statutory sick pay up to)(if I understood correctly) and the DWP need it to process any claim for disability benefits. They have been very quick to get back to me about it (less than a fortnight) and told me it is usually sent with the P45 and/or payslip. You get a month I think in which to send it in.

    I've asked for it so now I just have to wait and see.

    I am keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes as painlessly as possible for you.

    I was told the date of my last meeting was my termination date. Do my employers have this wrong? I'm not being paid any additional holiday pay for it.

    Not a problem, the more info the better. Did you get a letter from your employer stating what your entitled to from them ie amount of notice pay, holiday pay etc? 
    Did it say when you would receive it?
    I'm just wondering what I should expect to get from them, my employer is not the best for sticking to rules and paying people what they are owed. I know because I work in the office in accounts and open the post to enough letters from acas about other employees complaints

    To be clear, disability benefits refer to PIP/ADP (Scotland) and you don't need a SSP1 form to claim either of those. You will need the SSP1 form and a fit note to claim New Style ESA.

    The answer to both so far has been no. It is like extracting water from thin air. It can be done but you need to know how and have a lot of patience.

    Ok, sorry, I was unaware that ESA was not classed as a benefit - I am starting to drown in forms and information.

    I had wondered why I had not needed SSP1 for my PIP application last year.

    It's happened, my employment has been terminated. I have 12 weeks pay and 13.4 days holiday to come. I'm quite relieved it's all done with now. I feel the happiest I felt in a long time. All that job did was stress me out, because of the workload and the people I work with

    I'm so pleased to read how happy you're feeling now @Broreb1981, it must be quite a relief as you say :) I hope you're able to enjoy a relaxing weekend and no more thinking about that job!

    @Broreb1981 I hope you have a lovely stress free transition. At least you don't have to deal with them again. It can be horrible when it's dragging on.

    Hi Broeb- sorry you are going through a hard time with CRPS and being off work. Are you part of a union, or does the work have any sort of representation you can use?

    This isn't really advice, but I thought it might be helpful to hear you are not alone!  I had CRPS too. I was off work for a year with it, and the depression/anxiety etc that went with the pain, and all its strange symptoms. It really is a hard one to explain to others! 

    Also went to Occupational Health meetings. Some were more to do with their insurance, but one  I even found helpful. I did have meetings about a way to return to work in an adapted way. 

    But in my case, the job was really not what I wanted to return to. In the end, I was lucky enough that I was part of a union so they negotiated an exit for me based on health grounds. Realise your circumstances may be different!

    In my case not having the thought of trying to return to my old job actually made me less stressed, and I managed then to focus on recovery.  I did then manage after a few years to return to some type of work, and do work that was more manageable for me with my disability. 

    Wishing you as well as can be, whichever way this goes.

    I have it in my ankle. I have no idea how to explain what it is to people.

    The problem with being out of work is that it sometimes brings on a different type of stress as if you dont have any saving, or when the savings run out, living on benefits is stressfull. It's not enough to live on.
