New Style ESA move to UC - fit notes

When moving to UC with a New Style ESA Support Group award does the UC claimant have to provide 'fit notes' for the LCWRA element ? A previous thread has contradictiory views. I know the job centre can see my New Style ESA Support Group award on their system - their last phone call with me confirmed as much along with the need not to attend any further claimant appointments.
Regulation 19 ( from 2014 ) mentioned in the previous thread, only mentions 'old style ESA'
Can anyone give an unequivocal answer ?

Yes, they will often ask you to provide a fit note as part of the claims process. However, you can put a note on your journal to tell them that you're claiming New style ESA in the Support Group and also take the ESA letter with you when you have your appointment.Just so that you're aware, you don't actually move to UC because your ESA will continue but be deducted from any UC entitlement.1

How long should I ask for the fit note to last ?
My GP has already been informed by the DWP that fit notes are no longer needed in regards to my benefit.
Yes - I understand that my ESA will be deducted from my UC entitlement.0 -
Just a few weeks but it may not even be needed if you tell them about your current ESA claim.
