I am a mother of two. My youngest is 3 months and my eldest is 9 years old who has been diagnosed with autism. I would love for some tips and feedback.

I'm wondering if he's got autism. It might be worth getting him assessed because I missed out in school because I didn't have the diagnosis.

Hello @nashila and welcome to our online community, how are you getting on today?

It must be tricky to know how to handle your son's outbursts, have you had any input from the professionals who diagnosed his autism? Also, is he getting sufficient support at school?

The National Autistic Society have this advice for parents/carers around anger management that could be worth reading, whilst I've amended the title of your thread and moved it to our Autism and neurodiversity category to attract the eyes of members who have more experience in this situation.

If your son received a diagnosis within the last year, you might find Scope's navigate service handy too. It's a free emotional support service for parents and care givers that - amongst many other things - will help you with coping strategies.

Wishing you the very best going forwards and please do lean on us for support.
