My husband claims pip and I claim carers to look after him my health is not great now am I entitled to claim the new adult disability for myself or will they take my husbands pip away from him I am unsure whether to call and make a claim incase they start looking into what benefits we recieve I'm dying to phone and just rather than jump both feet in and start the claim with the lady doing the typing and asking me questions if someone could help I'll gladly tell what benefits we are on as a joint couple

Hi there unfortunately I can't answer the question as I'm not an expert in this area but what I can say is that someone will be able to answer your question on this area. I would also like to welcome you to this forum.

I don't think your husbands PIP will be affected @Alainew51, thanks for your query. I'm not to sure about carers allowance, as I'm less familiar with the details around the new Scottish Adult Disability Payment.

Do say if I've got my wires crossed and you're not based in Scotland! :)

Any claim you make for yourself will not affect your husbands PIP award.

Your entitled to have your own claim you don’t have joint disabilities so you have your disability claim for you Alainew51 said:
