My Pip Journey for Crohn’s Disease

Just wanted to share my journey through claiming pip incase there is anyone frantically searching for good news stories like I was. I have Crohn’s disease basically affecting me most places possible. Also depression and anxiety which I don’t take medication for. It’s been a very bumpy ride for me I’m not going to lie but I just wanted to say, keep going for as long as you can! Also if you can get help with your claim that’s great but I find it very difficult to engage and ask for help so I went through the process by myself.
So I called to apply around November 2021 but when the forms came I couldn’t handle it and didn’t continue with the application.
16.2.22 - called again to make new application, filled in form a few days later online.
20.05.22 - had telephone assessment.
9.6.22 - received outcome decision, 6 points and 4 points. Applied for MR straight away.
21.07.22 - Mr decision, stayed the same.
10.8.22 - tribunal request.
15.3.22 - tribunal date, had decision on the same day. Awarded standard daily living and enhanced mobility. Could also see this on my online application later on, haven’t received a letter yet though.
Now it’s just another long wait for it all to be sorted but hopefully everything goes ok 👌

Hi @SiouxseeSue , thank you so much, hope your daughter is getting on okay?
Just a small update, I've been keeping my phone on me all the time just incase I got a call, of course I forgot about my phone earlier and had a missed call from dwp at 4.40pmThey left a message saying to call them back tomorrow as they need extra information about the tribunal. The other day when I called them to ask what was happening they said theyxha all the info and was waiting for someone to make a decision. So I'm not sure what info they need. I guess will find out tomorrow.

If you haven't yet been asked whether you've been in hospital or prison then this will be most likely what they were ringing you for.

Hi Sausagedog, shes doing okay thanx 😊
As Poppy states above should just be a couple of admin questions and you’ll be all done.
Don’t forget to let us know how you get on!1 -
@poppy123456 and @SiouxseeSue thank you, hopefully I'll be able to sleep tonight now. The way it was worded was like something was missing from the tribunal. So hopefully it is just that, I will update again tomorrow, thanks again x2

Hi again, they asked me the questions of being in hospital prison etc. said they couldn’t give me any details of payments just they would pass that information on to the person dealing with my case and I would have to wait for them to make a decision. So now I still don’t know what is happening0

You've done everything you can for now. It can take anything up to 8 weeks (sometimes longer) after a Tribunal decision to put your award into payment and pay what is owed.

Just wanted to update again. Recieved text this morning to say I have been awarded pip. Called automated line and it told me my payment date. Feels like I can finally breath again without a big weight on me. Thank you all again x1

I'm very pleased to read your update @SausageDogTMH and that the news has helped you feel able to relax a little. You'll hopefully receive your award letter soon, too.1

Recieved my backpay yesterday. This morning I have recieved a £10 payment, unsure why. Will I get the £150 from last year automatically sometime or do I have to ring up for it, does anyone know please?0

The £10 will be for the Christmas bonus. https://www.gov.uk/christmas-bonus The £150 CoL payment should automatically be paid.
