Hi there @Connor06, unfortunately, if your child’s existing award ends before there is a decision, they will not get a back payment.
Did you send it off within 4 weeks of receiving it?
If you'd like to read more about DLA renewals, Scope has information and guidance.
If we can do anything else to help, please ask

That's not correct. If the DLA ends before a decision is made on the review and they are successfully awarded, money will be owed from the date payment stops.Alex_Scope said:Hi there @Connor06, unfortunately, if your child’s existing award ends before there is a decision, they will not get a back payment.

I apologise I should have been clearer, I meant if the ultimate decision of the renewal is an unsuccessful award, then payment will not be backdated. Sorry for any confusion @Connor061

I sent it off 8 weeks before current claim due to end as had to wait for most recent ehcp paperwork. My sons current claim ends on 23rd and we due payment on 25th wasn’t sure if we would get it or not. Thank youb0

I've heard that claims are currently taking up to 16 weeks. I have no idea if a DLA award continues until a decision is made. If a decision isn't made nearer the end date then you'll need to ring to ask.
