Thanks for your help in advance. I am new to this platform and I am not sure what to do?. I am registered as disabled and been receiving UC with unfit for work element within UC entitlement. I thought to go back to work of some sort that I can manage and have been able to secure a job recently . I did inform UC about this and also mentioned to UC that I wasn’t fully fit but I was trying still. My question is how this will affect my UC benefits if I stay in this job and will I lose all or some of the benefits in the long run if I stay working? I am really struggling to find the right balance of work or not work due to my disability, please advise if you can, much appreciated and thank you all

There’s no maximum amount of hours you can work while claiming UC with the LCWRA. Assuming when you told them you’re working you reported a change of circumstances and reported it this way?
You will have the work allowance which means a certain amount of earnings received each month are ignored before the 55% deduction applies. If you claim for help with the rent your work allowance will be £379/month, if you don’t it will be £631.
Do be aware that if the work you do contradicts the reasons why you were found to have LCWRA then it could go against you at your next review.0 -
thanks poppy123456, what’s LCWRA? Cheers. I don’t have a review as per UC letter that says “I don’t need to look for work and don’t expect me to work “ due to disability.0

For the LCWRA i was referring to your comment here.
If you don't have this on your claim then the work allowance also applies if you have LCW or children on your claim.Fairplayam said:receiving UC with unfit for work element0 -
Hi poppy , I do have the unfit element in my claim and decision outcome letter from UC, but not sure if I stand to lose some or all the benefits I receive if I stay longer in my current job which is already affecting my health which I informed UC about0

UC is based on earnings received each month. The more earnings you receive above the work allowance the less UC you’re entitled to.0
