Powerchair breakdown

I use a powerchair for mobility including walking my dog. My concern is if the powerchair breakdowns then how can it and I be rescued if I am in the middle of a field where access is not easy…
My powerchair did breakdown once before but luckily it was close to my car and I got help. I called the insurance that provides breakdown cover and they were going to send a normal taxi which was no help. Luckily I managed to get hold of my husband and brother who sorted it all out. Has anybody else any experience like this and ideas ….

Hello @sallycatherine
Which insurance provider are you with? I found information on Motability that you may find useful if it isn't the one you are already with.
I also found this article on 9 common power wheelchair malfunctions that may help too0 -
Hi, there is breakdown insurance for power chairs but read the small print very carefully as we found that we were paying well over £100 a year but it would only cover a 10 mile radius from home!! So completely useless if you want to actually go anywhere. And that was one of the big names (won't name and shame here)
