Hi guy,
I was awarded pip at tribunal. April 12th is when DWP got the notification. I called them today to get an update and they asked me questions ‘have you been abroad longer than 4 weeks’ was one of them. I was in USA visiting family for the entirety of August last year 1-31. That is 4.5 weeks. I told her this.
This won’t affect my claim will it? I know they may not pay me for those 4.5 weeks but i’m just a bit worried!
I know you can leave up to 13 weeks and get your entitlement still right??
Can anyone give me peace of mind?
This whole thing has caused more stress and anxiety than the happiness i thought it would bring.

When claiming PIP you can go abroad for up to 13 weeks without it affecting it. They don’t usually ask this question. They usually ask if you’ve been in hospital or prison.0
