Can my son claim anything?

Hi, I’m wondering what if anything my son will be able to claim, he is 19 and he currently gets high rate pip for care and mobility he has been in full time education which he will leave in July and he will turn 20 in September. I receive carers allowance for him and income support and child benefit which obviously ends soon. As he will then be a non dependent and income will significantly drop as I will also be moved to uc. Is there anything he can claim? I hope this makes sense I’m so confused

Once he leaves full time education then he can claim UC in his own right. When he claims he will need to make sure he reports his health condition and sends a fit note within 7 days of that. He must continue to send fit notes without any gaps until a decision is made on the work capability assessment. As a single person under 25 then he'll be entitled to £292.11/month. He will not be able to claiom for help with any rent if he lives with you. Information here about UC with a health condition https://www.gov.uk/health-conditions-disability-universal-creditIf he's unable to manage his own claim then once the claim has been submitted you can leave a message on his journal to ask to become his appointee. You will not be moved to UC. If your tax credits end once he leaves full time education because he's the only person you claim benefits for then this isn't a change of circumstances that will prompt a move.Your Income Support and carers allowance will continue as normal.1

But would be sensible to do a benefit check using a calculator or from an adviser because UC may pay more than IS depending on circumstances.poppy123456 said:.Your Income Support and carers allowance will continue as normal.0 -
