Hannah_Scope said:Well, the services marching, seeing all the flags, banners, uniforms... it was such an amazing thing to see

The day really deserved a 'sunny' day, historically it would have been great. But with 'green screen' they can work wonders!!

I am not a staunch royalist but I thought today was just wonderful. I think Queen Camilla has done herself proud in so many diverse and different ways. She is one class act to follow. I opened my front door and I could hear the bells ringing; it sort of drew me into the moment and made me feel part of the history. Whatever you feel about spondoolies and cost, and whether you are Royalist or not, the Union between The Universe, Democracy and Love just all came together today. Because of where I live I saw the fly pass and I just thought I am so proud to be British,2

Oh wow @Steve_in_The_City what a sight to see and hear the bells0

The thread has become confused. It has gone from Coronation Day to junk tv. I want to respond to @Sandy_123 but find I cannot. Would someone please fix the thread?0

That's ok @Steve_in_The_City fantastic to see the fly over in real time for you and hear the bells0

Impressed that Camilla had her two rescued jack russell dogs embroidered on to the front of her coronation gown.

Hi @Steve_in_The_City, I've moved some of the non-Coronation related posts to a different discussion.Steve_in_The_City said:The thread has become confused. It has gone from Coronation Day to junk tv. I want to respond to @Sandy_123 but find I cannot. Would someone please fix the thread?

Hannah_Scope said:We now have a (crowned) King and Queen! There are little things that I've noticed, like when they drank from the chalice, they wiped the edge. Makes you think if that would have happened pre-covid.
With Holy Communion in the Church of England, for as long as I can remember, the chalice is wiped between participating communicants, then turned around a quarter, so normal practice.

No doubt a Royal Commemorative DVD / download of the Coronation will be produced.0

Today is a different day. Yesterday I put on some decent togs 'cos I knew it was a special day and I knew I had to look ok and sort of make an effort in a way that I don't usually bother to do. Basically I am happiest when being a total scruff!
Anyway, today is back to normality. I put my clothes back on the rail and scruffed-up in my jeans and tee shirt. The sun is shining brilliantly and somehow everything seems better. It feels like a new King and Queen is a new beginning, a fresh start and a time to put old heartaches to rest.

A symbolic change, as such. Much as New Year`s Eve is for me: Out with the old and in with the new on the final stroke of Big Ben.Steve_in_The_City said:Today is a different day.
