in Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
Hi, I’m currently claiming esa & pip, I also receive child tax credit and child benefit (I have a teenage son)
I haven’t been able to work for a few years, I’m currently pregnant with 2nd child. 
I’m just wondering what I’m better off doing? Do I move over to universal credit? I don’t really know how it works. Will they try to get me back into work and all that job centre stuff?

    You can add your 2nd child to both your claims, if you aren’t moved over to UC by then.

    oh that’s right everyone will eventually be on UC anyway? I don’t really understand it all 😩

    You should use a benefits calculator before claiming UC to check that you won’t be any worse off. 

    If you’re in the Support Group for ESA then you’ll be entitled to the LCWRA element from the start of your claim.

    If your ESA includes the SDP though then you could be worse off if you claim UC before managed migration takes place.

    You will be invited to apply for UC anytime between now and end of 2024 as part of managed migration anyway. (If they reach their goal)
