Hello and good morning. I was awarded an ESA contributory base in 2020 until 30 June 2023. I have heard nothing from them so far. I am approaching 65 years of age. Can someone advise me accordingly please . Thank you

You will be claiming New style ESA and you must be in the Support Group, this is an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise.

State pension age is now 66 so your ESA will continue until you reach this age. You will need to apply for your state pension about 4 months before you reach this age.

Thank you so much. Yes, I am in the Support group. Does that mean I will have to put in a new claim when the ESA expires, or will I call them, and they will continue my ESA until pension age?

Your ESA doesn't end because it's an ongoing award. The date they've given is your expected review date but it's only a guide. It will continue as normal until you either reach state pension age or a review decision says you're no longer in the Support Group.
