Hi. I have had the text that says 'we have awarded you pip. we have sent you a letter explaining the award. Please allow 2 weeks to get this' I claimed in september.. but i didnt send the form in due to them sending it during the royal mail strikes so i wasnt able to send it back by the date. Around april/may i had some phone calls for a assessment. I guess the evidence from my GP and the assessment was enough.
Will i be getting a back pay from september? and if so when will this be please? i would like to use it to pay off some debts. Thanks

As you didn't return the form on time this may affect when it's awarded from. Any money owed will be paid into your bank 3-5 working days after it was sent. When you receive the decision letter it will explain what you've been awarded, when it's paid from and how long your award is for.If you can't wait then you can ring PIP tomorrow when they open and 9am and ask them.1

With my last PIP claim I didn't send the form in at all. My mental health was so bad that I just forgot to do it. Despite this my claim was still successful and payment was backdated to the day when I first called them to start the PIP application process.ellie_rsg said:Hi. It sounds like you would get around 8 months back pay, which is similar to what I got. Because I had been on ESA at the time i started the PIP application (and later transitioned to UC), I also got them to give me backpay for the Transitional Protection I was due.ellie_rsg said:thank you so much! @StillIRise1 -

I believe my back payment was within my bank account within 10 days max. If I remember correctly I called them to get my PIP decision and they told me the good news and said that a letter confirming the decision was on its way. By the time that letter arrived my back payment had already hit my bank account.ellie_rsg said:
