Just want to say thank you to you. I've seen you on many posts including mine advising people and it really means a lot to someone like me who was struggling with the anxiety of not knowing!poppy123456 said:misszxo said:Just received the text that I have been awarded PIP. What a relief!
Great news. As i expected, they rarely go against it.You're welcome. Thank you also for the kind words, they mean a lot.misszxo said:I've got it all confirmed with PIP, having spoke to a lovely lady just now. I just want to ask do I need to inform UC that I am now receiving PIP?
Yes, inform them. Are you claiming with a partner or just yourself? If with a partner and your PIP includes the daily living part, if they look after you for at least 35 hours per week they can claim carers element of UC. (assuming they're not claiming LCWRA for their self)If just yourself are you privately renting your home, if so are you under 35? If under 35 then you will be entitled to the 1 bedroom rate of LHA rather than the shared rate.If you were affected by the benefit cap, this will no longer apply.0 -
I'm a single parent living in 2 bed flat. I'm 32. Do I call or just write on my journal? Thanks for the advice once againpoppy123456 said:misszxo said:

No problem. Just put a message on your journal. Your housing element will remain unchanged but the benefit cap will be lifted if you were affected by this. It will be backdated to the assessment period in which your PIP claim started. (when you rang to claim)Have you been through the work capability assessment? One other thing, if you scored at least 8 points in the moving around part of mobility PIP you will now automatically be entitled to a blue badge. Or if you scored at points for 1E (following and planning a journey) then this will also automatically entite you. You can check the criteria for your local Authority here. https://www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badgeIf you also have a vehicle then you'll be entitled to 50% reduction in road tax (standard mobility) or free road tax if awarded Enhanced mobility.

Yes I'm on the limited capability to work thingy. There's no option on change of circumstances on my journal about other benefits so I guess I'll just write on there and hopefully they can advise.poppy123456 said:No problem. If your UC includes the LCWRA element then the benefit cap wouldn’t have applied to you anyway. This would mean your UC will remain unchanged.0

Thanks for the info. I will get onto them today because I am not entirely sure about UC. But thank youpoppy123456 said:If your UC includes the LCWRA element then the benefit cap wouldn’t have applied to you anyway. This would mean your UC will remain unchanged.0 -
It will tell you on your statements whether it's either LCW or LCWRA that you have.

Well I got the pip awarded text yesterday, I called them and back pay is going in on Friday. I have informed UC but I've not heard anything back yet as when I called they just told me to write on my journal xxamanda0211 said:No nothing yet, how long you got to wait for backpay, I've never claimed pip before so I'm quite new to all of this. I'm just trying to keep myself busy. Did you hear back from uc as I think I would have to let them no aswell xx0 -
Yeah hun I'm so relieved. I understand how you feel with the anxiety. The not knowing is awful. I'm keeping everything crossed for you for a positive outcome xxamanda0211 said:I'm pleased it's all sorted for you, do you feel more relaxed now that the stress is over with, im hoping I hear something soon its sending my anxiety a but over the top. I just try to keep busy with the kids to stop me over thinking as I think that's the worst part when you start to over think it all. Xx1 -

That's fantastic news. Such a relief. Happy for you hun xxamanda0211 said:I got my text this morning hun. Xx0 -
I received the text on a Tuesday. Back payment hit my bank on the Friday. Then the award letter came on Tuesday xxamanda0211 said:@misszxo did you receive the text on a Wednesday and get your payment on the Friday.
I called them today and I think the man I spoke to didn't really no much, he said I was due a payment back in March and I needed to call the bank. I think he ment I applied in match so I didn't really get an answer to a back payment from him lol xx0 -
They said I didn't need to inform them as PIP doesn't affect UC but I'm in a group for limited capability to work or something so I need to call them cos I don't think the person who wrote on my journal realised that xxamanda0211 said:Ah got mine on wed morning so could be next week for me. Did universal credit get back to you in going to leave a message today to for them xx0 -

Did universal credit get back to you in going to leave a message today to for them xxIf you were found to have LCWRA then your PIP award will have no impact on your UC because you will not be affected by the benefit cap. Therefore you do not need to tell them about your PIP award because you live with just your daughterIf you were found to have LCW then you may have been affected by the benefit cap so it will be worth telling them you're now claiming at least daily living PIP. This is because you will no longer be affected by the benefit cap.You can look at your statements on your journal to see which group you're in.0 -
amanda0211 said:Ty poppy xxxMy comment was for misszxo and not for you. Your circumstances maybe different to theirs. If you're claiming UC with a partner and your PIP includes the daily living part they can claim carers element of UC for looking after you. Providing they look after you for at least 35 hours per week.If you live alone and you're claiming for help with any rent and you're under 35 then you'll be entitled to the 1 bedroom rate of LHA instead of the shared rate.
