I've got it all confirmed with PIP, having spoke to a lovely lady just now. I just want to ask do I need to inform UC that I am now receiving PIP?0

Yes, inform them. Are you claiming with a partner or just yourself? If with a partner and your PIP includes the daily living part, if they look after you for at least 35 hours per week they can claim carers element of UC. (assuming they're not claiming LCWRA for their self)If just yourself are you privately renting your home, if so are you under 35? If under 35 then you will be entitled to the 1 bedroom rate of LHA rather than the shared rate.If you were affected by the benefit cap, this will no longer apply.0 -

No problem. Just put a message on your journal. Your housing element will remain unchanged but the benefit cap will be lifted if you were affected by this. It will be backdated to the assessment period in which your PIP claim started. (when you rang to claim)Have you been through the work capability assessment?One other thing, if you scored at least 8 points in the moving around part of mobility PIP you will now automatically be entitled to a blue badge. Or if you scored at points for 1E (following and planning a journey) then this will also automatically entite you. You can check the criteria for your local Authority here. https://www.gov.uk/apply-blue-badgeIf you also have a vehicle then you'll be entitled to 50% reduction in road tax (standard mobility) or free road tax if awarded Enhanced mobility.

Yes I'm on the limited capability to work thingy. There's no option on change of circumstances on my journal about other benefits so I guess I'll just write on there and hopefully they can advise.poppy123456 said:No problem. If your UC includes the LCWRA element then the benefit cap wouldn’t have applied to you anyway. This would mean your UC will remain unchanged.0

It will tell you on your statements whether it's either LCW or LCWRA that you have.

Well I got the pip awarded text yesterday, I called them and back pay is going in on Friday. I have informed UC but I've not heard anything back yet as when I called they just told me to write on my journal xxamanda0211 said:No nothing yet, how long you got to wait for backpay, I've never claimed pip before so I'm quite new to all of this. I received the text on a Tuesday. Back payment hit my bank on the Friday. Then the award letter came on Tuesday xxamanda0211 said:@misszxo did you receive the text on a Wednesday and get your payment on the Friday.
I called them today and I think the man I spoke to didn't really no much, he said I was due a payment back in March and I needed to call the bank. I think he ment I applied in match so I didn't really get an answer to a back payment from him lol xx0 -

Therefore you do not need to tell them about your PIP award because you live with just your daughterIf you were found to have LCW then you may have been affected by the benefit cap so it will be worth telling them you're now claiming at least daily living PIP. This is because you will no longer be affected by the benefit cap.You can look at your statements on your journal to see which group you're in.0 -
