Hi, how will it impact my partner's UC if we move in together?

Hi there hoping someone will be able to help, so myself and my partner are discussing moving into together in her home as she has children and we don’t want to move them. 

She claims UC and gets help with her rent and child care costs. She said when we move intogether I will have to apply for UC jointly together. Which is ok. But I have a mortgage and not looking to sell my property straight away but maybe after 12 months. It is only in my name. How will this affect her claim ? Has anyone else been in this situation.     If you move in with your partner then you will need to claim UC. Your partner will need to report the changes and tell them you've moved in. They will then receive a linking code to join both claims together. Entitlement will be based on your joint circumstances.

    The property you have will be classed as capital. If there's more than £16,000 of equity in that property then entitlement to UC will end. It can be disregarded for up to 6 months (sometimes longer) if it's up for sale but you'll need to prove it's up for sale.
