Took part in a PIP telephone assessment on 12th May 2023. Answered a load of questions about mobility and daily activities. Got a letter today inviting me to another assessment on 30th June 2023. Gave Capita a call. They said the first call was to find out if a telephone assessment was appropriate. Doesn't sound right to me. However, the first assessment did only last for 20 minutes and an assessment is supposed to last for an hour. Just wondered if anyone has had this happen or experience of this. Thank you.

Assessments vary in length anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes and don't always last for as long as 1 hour. It depends on how many questions they need to ask.

Yes, we've had members here that have needed another assesment after the first one. Usually it's because they didn't get enough of information the first time. Is this next assessment face to face?

Thank you poppy. The second assessment is also a telephone assessment due to health conditions I have which I appreciate being able to do over the telephone.

It maybe because they didn't get enough of information the first. Highly annoying that you have to go through the process again! I hope this time they have enough of information to write the report and return it.

As an after thought, did your first assessment report get sent to audit? Sometimes this happens at random. When it does, if there's issues with the report, they may ask for another assessment to be completed. I've heard of this happen before.

Thanks. I don't know if it went to audit. I'll see if I can check it out. At the end of the day I'll just go through the process again.

    Hello @RichardsUsername

Welcome to the community! :) I'm glad Poppy was able to answer your query. I hope the second assessment goes well and I'll keep everything crossed!

    Thank you Hannah_Scope

    The assessment went well.

The assessor gave me the following address for sending in evidence:

    Lot 2
    FREEPOST
    RTE-UHAGT-SLBL
    PIP 1
    Site A
    Wolverhampton
    WV98 1AA

However when I checked with google I am seeing the following address listed.

    Freepost
    RTEU-HBEC-RGTG
    Personal Independence Payment 1
    Mail Handling Site A
    Wolverhampton
    WV98 1AA

    Can someone please confirm.

    Thank you.

    Richard

Sounds like it went to audit I've been and I'm still going through the exact same thing @RichardsUsername but second time around I asked for a face2face where it was advised I should have a paper assessment now just waiting for the outcome off that.
I was advised by capita to send in more evidence to the same address you have been given but when I rang pip about it they said there's no reason to send in more evidence as they will contact other medical professionals if they need too.
It's just a very long waiting game I hope you get the outcome you deserve.

The only problem with that is they very rarely contact anyone and you shouldn't assume they will.
