Good morning,

I have a NEW work Coach for my UC and she seems like she is going to make my life a living hell...

This morning she asked me to upload my Fitnote to my Journal and then requested a letter from my GP saying what is wrong with me and the treatment i am receiving.

Can she request this??

I have filled in my UC50 form and waiting a reply but as we know this takes months also she is making me come to the Job Centre and making threats that my money will stop if i don't attend.

I did tell her that the website and a link in the UC Journal does say that i can have phone appointment. I can't leave the house on my own and have to have someone with me but this is not always possible as she works.

She is already stressing me out at its only the morning.

Louise

You don't need any letter from your GP, a fit note is all that's needed. It's true that when claiming UC you're classed as a job seeker until a decision is made on your WCA. It's a work coaches discretion to either turn off or reduce work commiments. Some do and others don't. Did you explain your health conditions to her and how difficult it will be to attend in person appointments?

They should make reasonable adjustments for those that have difficulty attending their job centre for appointments and give telephone appointments instead. You can request a different work coach and hopefully the next one will be more understanding.

My new work coach wants a letter from my GP so she knows how she can support me. So she wants a letter from the GP saying what i can and can't do. To be honest all my appointments have been over the phone and to be frank the Doctor doesn't know what i can and can't do, surely that is for me to tell her not the Doctor.

    Kind regards

Unfortunately some work coaches are less understanding than others. Why have you got a new WC? What happened to your previous one?

Unfortunately, you won't find any information for that because as i advised, when claiming UC you're classed as a job seeker until a decision is made on your WCA. It's a work coaches discretion to either turn off or reduce your work commiments.

Today was a result i got my reasonable adjustment and i will be having Telephone appointments, which i am very happy about. My stress levels and Anxiety ended up with my Mother calling 111 as i was having chest pains and i was really unwell. It could have been my Depression and Anxiety and possibly a Panic Attack. But my GP is sending me for test just to be on the safe side. :)

I'm so sorry to hear you had chest pains, but glad to hear that you got your reasonable adjustment and your GP is supporting you further. Please keep us updated on the test results :)
