Proportional assessments for severe disability PASD
I was on standard daily living with a 3 year review. Last year I felt unwell (but had no diagnosis) and put in a change of circumstances with 10 additional a4 typed sheets with more info in addition to comprehensively filling out the form. It was refused and I appealed (ongoing). Early this year I got a diagnosis. I done another change of circumstances and I sent in my diagnosis letter with no other information except an instruction to look at previous change of circumstances. Capita never called or contacted me, I got the text to say dwp have their medical report and I rang for a copy last week and have now recieved it. The health professional says it was completed using proportional assessments for severe disability process with a recommendation of enhanced for both with no review ever. Dwp always say it is not based on diagnosis so how likely is it they will agree or disagree with the recommendation, has anyone had anything similar. I know I could have a wait of a month for the decision so trying to gauge whether this will be my outcome or if another MR/appeal is on the horizon. Thanks

Hello there @lookhorse and thanks for reaching out. It's difficult for us to say one way or the other what the outcome will be for you. Decision makers do go with recommendations most of the time, that is to say, it is rare for them to go against the report.
I hope you hear more about the decision soon, and we'll be here to support you whatever happens

Hi lookhorse,
I’ve just happened upon this post via Google searching PASD.
I’m going DLA to PIP and my assessment report is a paper based PA3, no assessment was needed, got a text that DWP had received the assessment report from HAAS Maximus for my area, so I requested a copy, which arrived a few days ago. It says done using the PASD Proportionate Assessment for Severe Disability process, recommendation of points is 16 points daily living, 12 points mobility also suggests no requirement to review due to the severity of my disability.I’m curious to know what award you ended up getting, how long did it take and did the DWP case manager decision maker agree with your health professional assessor and their assessment report?
Thanks, kind regards, Dave

Hi @GorillaWheels, you may not receive a reply to your question as the post is 2 years old. You could make your own post and ask the community in general as there are a lot of people with experience of claiming PIP.

Yes I noticed it was from a fair while ago, but worth an ask. I’ve sent a dm too but they may not be on anymore. Like you suggested, I might make my own post. Thanks, Dave ;)

@GorillaWheels I got tor DM buy I will reply here as it may help someone else in the future.
Yes the DWP did agree with the assessor and awarded me higher rate for both components with no review (they said if they do review it will not be for at least ten years), I also have a severe disability like you. I can not remember exactly how long it took for the decision letter but I think it was just a few weeks. My appeal was also successful due to the new award. I hope you also get a good outcome.

@lookhorse that’s great to hear you were successful in getting enhanced + enhanced for 10 years and winning your appeal, really good outcomes.
I should find out my result in the next few weeks. I’ll let you know how I get on. Thank you :), Dave.0
