Hi 
My rent has just gone up an extra 100 per month  u c asking for an updated rental agreement. My landlord not been very helpful. Any ideas ? Also this is my first assessment started 2 weeks ago. Are u allowed to ask for an advance?

    As it’s a new claim then yes you can ask for an advance payment. Do be aware though that this will need to be repaid back and your future payments will be reduced.

    For your rent increase then yes you will need to give some proof. As you’re living with your partner and privately renting then you’ll be entitled to the 1 bedroom rate of local housing allowance. This may not cover your whole rent so you will need to pay the difference. You can check the rates here https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/
